Her green eyes bit into
His grey mind,
Stony, then warm,
Hard, then compassionate,
Boring into his clouded conscience,
Reminding him of
Her welcoming smile, disarming
All his defences,
Reminding him of her sleepless nights
As she stays up late, waiting for him,
As he buries himself deep inside
Someone else,
Someone who is not her,
A different shape, so foreign to him,
And her images keep flashing
Inside his grey mind,
Guilty as charged.
